Job Summary:
The Accountant will assist in the preparation of the STAT, GAAP, and IFRS financial statements for a nonlife reinsurance company.Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs accounting and other related duties in the accounting department of a non-life reinsurance company.
- Assists in the Preparation of periodic (quarterly) financial statements on a STAT, GAAP, and IFRS basis.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Reconciles general ledger accounts and closes the monthly books.Assist in treasury functions including processing wire transfers and preparing bank reconciliations.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform internal and external audits.
- Works with external tax accountants to file required tax forms with federal government agencies.
- As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
